There’s something charming about the beach —mix in some ice-cold cervezas with Mexican food and you have Sandbar Mexican Grill.  It’s a breezy beach mentality with a high-energy sports bar flair. There’s room for anyone interested and enjoying the real sand beach environment.

With over 12,400 square feet, the space is large with five distinct event areas and four semi-private VIP patio cabanas.  Evening Entertainment Groups, the restaurant’s owner, has over 25 years experience and is renowned for maintaining the highest standards in cuisine, inspired drinks and creative atmospheres.

Our panel of critics enjoyed one of the semi-private VIP patio cabanas that offered a comfortable space for everyone to mix, mingle and sample the menu.

Sandbar Wings
Prepared in a traditional style and served with carrots, celery, ranch or bleu cheese dressing.  Everyone enjoyed the meaty pieces of tender wings in a balanced, hot sauce.

Blackened Salmon Salad
Atlantic salmon with spinach, red onions, cucumber, avocado, and citrus, all served with a lemon vinaigrette dressing.  It’s always nice to have a delicious, healthy alternative!

Chicken and Beef Tacos
Overall the group preferred the beef tacos, but felt the chicken were delicious as well.

Coconut Shrimp
Gulf shrimp crusted with coconut and cooked to a crispy perfection.  We thoroughly enjoyed this large portion of seafood, served with a delicious horseradish sauce.

Guacamole
Guacamole is one of the items that separate the “good” from the “average” Mexican food restaurants.  Sandbar’s guacamole was absolutely delicious and the serving size was substantial.  If you like guacamole, this is not to be missed.

Ahi Tacos
Seared rare ahi meat with southwest spices, fire roasted pico do gallo and guacamole.  We found this dish to be delicious, but needing a larger portion of ahi.

Fried Ice Cream
One word describes this desert – outstanding!  Made from battered vanilla ice cream and fresh pineapples, the desert is fried and then covered in sauces of strawberry, chocolate and banana rum.

From the Kids
Tacos
The tacos were very good, but too big for our mouths.  The beans were okay, but they weren’t the best.  My sister liked the rice – I’m a very picky person.
