Wow – did you know we have a star in our midst? Well, we were thrilled to find Kenny Holland who is at Pinnacle High School and has already embarked on a music career. Read the interview we did with him and find out about his life around Desert Ridge in this issue of Desert Ridge Lifestyles.
A lot has been going since our last issue. We have attended a City of Phoenix Parks Board meeting and presented the conceptual upgrade plan for Cashman Park. We have received approval from the Parks Board to continue the development of the Cashman Park improvements in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department. The Cashman Park Exploratory Committee is working with the architect to develop costs for the upgrades. The conceptual upgrade plan will be presented to residents for discussion and comments in future Desert Ridge events and meetings.
The City of Phoenix has also been conducting meetings regarding the Black Mountain Blvd., extension of the SR51. Our District 2 Councilman Jim Waring is attending these meetings as well. Many questions have been raised and there are several issues for the City to research. There are several websites to give you answers: www.blackmountainblvd.com as well as Councilman Waring’s email address which is council.district.2@phoenix.gov. You can also reach him at 602-262-7445. He wants to hear from us so please don’t be shy!!!
With mixed feelings, we would like to report that Mona Brown is leaving our team for a new career opportunity. Mona, who has been part of our team for nearly four years, will be missed. Please join us in thanking Mona for her contributions to Desert Ridge and wishing her the best in her new endeavor. We are pleased to announce that Alyssia Saxton, a current member of our team, will be assuming this role as the new Lifestyles Coordinator at Desert Ridge. We would like to congratulate Alyssia on her promotion to this new position.
