Desert Ridge Monument Sign

Letter from the Communication Chair Kathy Crawford

All of us at DESERT RIDGE LIFESTYLES MAGAZINE have been hard at work on this issue with many exciting holiday ideas and entries for this year’s holiday lighting contest.  We have changed the rules a bit so that everyone who participates has an even bigger chance to win, so look at the new entry and rules in this issue.

We have also been working with our web designer who will have this issue available on our website.  We are thrilled to be able to distribute the magazine on the web and you will be able to click on sections to see the past articles as well as current ones on our website by category.  All of the restaurant reviews will be under Dining and Entertaining and Community News will have all of the information about the Community.  In the future, we will be able to link to the different restaurant menus as well as provide school information and a link to the PV Unified School District and school news.  We are more than excited to bring you a truly dynamic community magazine that will allow interactivity not just print.  We are planning a poll so that we can gauge the print version versus the online version.  If most of our residents prefer the online version, we will not stop printing the magazine for at least a year and perhaps a lot longer.  It is truly up to you as this is your magazine.

Please don’t forget about the “Market on High Street”, farmer’s market – again a big success in October and we look forward to the November 20th “Market on High Street”.

Last – but by all means, not least – November 15th is the date of our usual Board Meeting and we will be holding an Evening Coffee Club after this meeting.  We will feature the Cashman Park re-design reveal that will show some conceptual drawings of what our park will hopefully look like after we get city approval as well as District 2 Councilman Jim Waring and staff of the City of Phoenix and Street Transportation Department, who will discuss some of the design ideas for the Black Canyon Boulevard Project and answer questions. You won’t want to miss this event.  A postcard will be going out shortly to give you date, time and place.

Have a great holiday season from all of us at DESERT RIDGE LIFESTYLES MAGAZINE.
