This time of year is filled with tradition and means something very different to each of us. For some, it means time off of work, countless parties, pot-lucks and holiday treats. Others are guided by faith and look forward to the extra time with family and friends. Childhood memories become the traditions we pass on, in hopes they are received with the same exuberance and joy we felt as youngsters. The holiday lights, festive music, school recitals and children’s wish-lists, all help remind us of years past. The common theme is we typically are looking for things to do that make us feel good!
We often choose this season to volunteer our time, give to our favorite cause, or adopt a family less fortunate. There are literally thousands of worthy organizations and we encourage you to get the family involved and make holiday giving a tradition in your home. Find a cause that resonates with your family and do what you can, a little goes a long way. What a wonderful time to reach out and help those in need!
Our Holiday 2014 issue is titled, “Tis the Season of Giving” and we’ve highlighted just a few of the many ways that our residents and community partners have chosen to give back this year. Amazing organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, The
Desert Ridge Parents Group, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, JW Marriott Desert Ridge and the
residents of the Sagewood community all have giving efforts throughout the year. Please consider reaching out to any of our contributors
and get involved.
We hope you and your family enjoy this issue of the Desert Ridge LifeStyles Magazine. We also wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
Cheers!
