Desert Ridge Monument Sign

From the President

As we approach Thanksgiving, the Desert Ridge Community Association Board and Rossmar & Graham would like to thank our members for their participation, input and support.  It has been another terrific year and together we have accomplished a great deal.

A few of the milestones we’ve achieved in 2012:

• Reduced crime by 30% with the Off-duty Officer Patrol Program.

• Increased Off-duty Officer Patrol shifts from 15 to 25 per month (66% increase).

• Created vacation home monitoring program with Off-duty Officer Patrol.

• Aggressively managed expenses, providing our membership with another refund.

(This raises the total of fees refunded to over $250,000 in the past two years).

• Increased services and lifestyle events without increasing Association fees.

• Created new lifestyle events including “Picnic in the Park” and “Movie in the Park.”

• Negotiated strong safety features to be included in the Black Mountain Blvd.

We’ve also invested into our community with reserve projects including:

• Installed over 8,800 tons of new decomposed granite.

• Replaced aging sidewalks and reinforced community bridges.

• Provided new signage, lighting and landscaping at the main entrance monuments.

• Started a community wide project to repair and repaint common area fences.

• Started erosion repairs and reinforcement of the Maricopa Wash.

• Started the installation of security lighting in the Glen Eagle community.

As we move forward in 2013, our goals are to preserve, maintain and enhance the property values in Desert Ridge, while efficiently managing our budget.  We have achieved a refund for our members for the second time in Association history and are focusing on how to lower Association fees and make these lower rates permanent.

We wish you the very best Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
