Desert Trails Elementary School
Desert Trails Elementary School is “Soaring to New Heights”, with a new vision and principal.
As the new school principal, Mrs. Duggan, joins Desert Trails Elementary School with several years of formal administrative experience in a PreK-8th grade setting. Her educational experience extends from both Arizona and the Department of Defense Dependent Schools overseas. Her classroom experiences have included PreK,K,1,2,4,5 grades as well as Reading Specialist and Gifted Specialist (Honors) positions. Her overall background, experiences and leadership will help Desert Trails become a model for educational success.
Mrs. Duggan is a visionary, who thinks progressively and possesses the ability to look beyond the “now” and formulate strategies for future success.
Using her theme of “Soaring to New Heights,” Mrs. Duggan is focused on personally getting to know the students, staff, and families of Desert Trails. Her plan includes building and maintaining a rigorous curriculum that supports DTES students and staff as they transition to the Arizona Common Core Standards and strengthen the schools 21st Century skills to cultivate world class thinkers. Mrs. Duggan believes in encouraging the DTES staff to build upon the Professional Learning Community to meet the needs of all learners.
Additionally, Mrs. Duggan realizes that a little bit of fun and laughter can go a long way. She has inspired a new sense of school spirit, an overall willingness from staff, students and families to be proud of the school and share in the Desert Trails Hawk Pride.
