Each year the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Vestar Branch, through a partnership with the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury, offers an instructional youth basketball program for ages 5-14. This all-encompassing basketball program is designed to teach youth about the fundamentals of basketball, the benefits of working with a team and the importance of exhibiting good sportsmanship. Leagues are divided into four divisions, Biddy Ball (ages 5-7), Rookies (8-9), Cadets (10-11), and Suns (12-14). It is the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs to provide these important life opportunities, such as being a part of a team, to all youth, regardless of their financial ability to pay and this is made possible through generous sponsors including the Desert Ridge Community Association. After a successful community Movie in the Park night, Desert Ridge was able to donate to the Vestar Branch, becoming the Rookies Division Sponsor. The Vestar Branch would also like to thank Right Honda and North Valley Orthodontics for their support this basketball season and invite you to visit their website at vestarbranch.bgcs.org to find out how you can get involved.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale provides a positive, safe and fun environment to help Valley youth of all ages and backgrounds reach the power of their potential. This non-profit organization offers more than 100 youth development programs at the organization’s nine branches and 12 outreach sites located in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, Fountain Hills and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa and Hualapai Indian Communities.
