There are a couple of things that instantly get me into the holiday spirit. The big toy catalog showing up at the house, my son starting to drop his not-so-subtle hints about what he’d like under the tree this year and our neighbors lighting up their homes with twinkling little lights and holiday decorations. There is something special about coming home at night, after a long day at the office, to find that your neighborhood has been magically transformed and enthusiastically decorated. I pride myself on knowing quite a few of my neighbors, but it feels like I know all of them over the holidays. Maybe it’s just me, but my stress melts away to see millions of little lights illuminate our trees and accent our homes.
It’s time for the 5th Annual Desert Ridge Holiday Lighting Contest. We are encouraging all of our Desert Ridge residents to participate at whatever level they can. Creativity outweighs quantity of lights, themes are always fun to see and family participation is a must! I cannot think of a better way to not only get the kids into the holiday spirit, but to get the family together and kick off the holiday season in style. Showcase your family’s creativity by participating in this year’s contest and plan on making it a family tradition! We look forward to seeing all the beautiful displays in Desert Ridge this holiday season.
