Located inside the JW Marriott, Roy’s restaurant and Chef Partner Mako Segawa have something for everyone. Roy’s blends European techniques, Pacific Rim cuisine and warm, from-the-heart hospitality. Together, they create the remarkable dining experience unique to Roy’s Restaurant. The first Roy’s was opened in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1988 by namesake Roy Yamaguchi, a James Beard Award winner. Since those early days, they’ve  proudly spread their passion around the world — there are 20 Roy’s restaurants in the continental United States, six in Hawaii, one in Japan, one in Guam and one in Desert Ridge.

Our reviewers sampled and liked almost every item on the menu.  Portion sizes are generally small, so be sure to try more than one course.  Here’s the best of the best:

Appetizers
Roy’s Original Blackened Island Ahi−Blackened Ahi with a delicious, spicy soy mustard
Lobster California−a standard California roll with a first-class upgrade of lobster!

Main Entrees
Seared Sea Scallops−Potato purée, pork belly, fennel, apple and a honey coriander glaze
Alaea Salt Crusted Bone in Ribeye−Peppercorn Shoyu brandy sauce, truffled bacon mac & cheese
Braised Short Ribs of Beef−Natural braising sauce, honey mustard, yukon mash and broccolini
Roy’s Trio−A trio of fish including hibachi grilled salmon, misoyaki “butterfish” and  roasted macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi
