Desert Ridge® Parents’ Group (DRPG)
The Desert Ridge® Parents’ Group (DRPG) is a fun-filled organization for parents and children in the North phoenix area. All families in the Desert Ridge® community are invited to check out our activities and events! Founded in 1997, the not-for-profit Desert Ridge® Parents’ Group (DRPG) hosts weekly playgroups, monthly kids’ and family activities, seasonal events and parents-only nights for residents in Desert Ridge and surrounding areas. Membership dues are only $30 per year.

Desert Ridge Parents Group (DRPG) is all about FUN! Fun for kids, as well as fun for parents. We have many large events throughout the year that boost family fun time and make for memorable childhood experiences. So far this year, we have had our Annual Chili Cook-Off and Bike Rodeo, where Stephanie Kern won the cook-off for her delectable dish “Fifty Shades of Spicy.” We had a wonderful police officer, Dan Malone, come and demonstrate bike safety for the kids. In addition, our Spring Fling Easter Egg Hunt at Cashman Park was a great success with children collecting hundreds of eggs filled with homemade play dough and candy treats. We continue to have entertaining events throughout the year including a Summer Kick Off, which is a dinner and play time at a splash pad, a stay-cation at a valley resort in June, a Water Balloon Fest later in the summer, and a Boo and Brew and Fall Festival later in the year.
PLAYGROUPS
In addition to our large events, we have a number of playgroups that meet weekly for various age ranges. There is a group for babies under one that usually meet in a member’s home. As the children grow, we have a playgroup to fit each age with activities appropriate for their development. These include play dates at the park, the zoo, the Children’s Museum, splash pads, pool play, inside play areas during the summer, kids craft activities, and much more.
JUST FOR PARENTS
Another awesome element to DRPG membership is the weekly and monthly activities for parents sans kids. We have Mom’s Night Out, Dad’s Night Out, and Parent’s Night Out at local restaurants and bars. DRPG also sponsors a monthly bunco game, crafts for moms, and a book club, just to name a few activities. These are opportunities to meet parents in your area and to make great new friends. Membership is only $30 per family, per year.
