Quality, comfort and value are the three key ingredients promoted by the Keg Steakhouse & Bar in Desert Ridge.  After sampling a wide variety of entrees, our gang of gastronomes agreed and rated the Keg Steakhouse & Bar among the best dining values in North Phoenix.

Their menu features tender, juicy steaks, slow roasted prime rib, succulent shellfish, fresh salads and irresistible desserts.  The staff is outgoing, knowledgeable and friendly, with a genuine desire to please. The Keg Steakhouse & Bar provides an atmosphere that encourages you to enjoy, relax and be yourself – all at an affordable price.

Appetizers

Calamari
Fried with red peppers, jalapenos and a spicy sweet ginger garlic sauce, the calamari was tender mild and perfectly cooked.

Scallops & Bacon
Bacon-wrapped scallops with a zesty martini cocktail sauce.  A large portion of scallops that were delicious.  Our only concern is the delicate taste of the seafood was somewhat overpowered by the strong flavors of the bacon.

Dinner

Prime Rib
The 12 oz. cut of prime rib is specially aged for extra flavor and tenderness, hand-carved and then served with horseradish and red wine herb au jus.  This entrée was perhaps the best prime rib we’ve tasted in Phoenix.  So good, we thought we’d died…and gone to Vegas.

Rib Steak
Order this steak and you’d better bring an appetite.  This hearty bone-in rib steak is a monstrous 20 ounces of meat sprinkled with a flavorful blend of seasonings and served with sautéed mushrooms.

Grilled Shrimp
A strong recommendation for foodies who enjoy seafood.  This dish features a large serving of black tiger shrimp basted with olive oil and fresh herbs.

Bleu Cheese Filet
A tender, “melt in your mouth”, 7 oz. filet mignon wrapped in applewood smoked bacon, covered in a golden brown Bleu cheese crust, and sprinkled with roasted garlic cloves.  Our tasters also enjoyed a traditionally prepared filet that was buttery, with a delicious mild flavor.

Teriyaki Sirloin
Looking for an alternative to the traditional top sirloin?  This 8 oz. steak is marinated in the Keg’s own Teriyaki sauce and then cooked to your liking.  We enjoyed the great Teriyaki flavor.

BBQ Chicken & Ribs
Tender chicken and juicy back ribs grilled and basted with a tangy Keg BBQ sauce.  A terrific combination

Desserts

Crème Brulee
A baked vanilla custard topped with a caramelized sugar crust.  While the dessert was creamy and sweet, it lacked the traditionally strong vanilla bean taste.

Margarita Key Lime Pie
A light and refreshing Key lime pie artistically served with a drizzle of raspberry coulis.

Billy Miner Mud Pie
Mocha ice cream on a chocolate crust with hot fudge, caramel and almonds.  Our group’s favorite dessert – so good it might have kept Billy from robbin’ them trains.

Sweet Minis, Passion Brulee
Very creamy with a hint of berries; a light and delicious dessert.
