The holiday season will once again be aglow with bears, flamingos and monkeys as ZooLights, presented by SRP and powered by EarthWise™ Energy, turns on its 3.8 million lights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014.

The magic of ZooLights and its 700 lighted displays will continue to light up the sky every evening thereafter through January 11. A couple of major changes this year; ZooLights is not waiting until Thanksgiving night to welcome guests. Gates will open the Monday prior to Thanksgiving, allowing more days for guests to enjoy the dazzling display. Also, ZooLights is starting 30 minutes earlier this year, now at 5:30 p.m., with festivities running until 10:30 p.m. Adult beverages will be available for purchase on Friday and Saturday nights.

ZooLights, one of the largest holiday light shows in the Southwest, is a Valley tradition that shines brighter each year and this year is no exception. New this year; look for Tortuga, the Talking Galápagos Tortoise to join Jengo the Talking Giraffe as they entertain guests with their quick wit and amazing knowledge. Enjoy two new Music in Motion shows featuring music from the movie The Polar Express and Carol of the Bells by Artic Express. Look for the new ‘Big Blue,’ covered in more than 300,000 lights, and watch as an ice sculptor magically makes an animal appear out of a 300 pound block of ice.

The Phoenix Zoo strives to be environmentally friendly and transition more and more lights every year to LED. Also, ZooLights is presented by SRP and powered by EarthWise™ Energy, generated from sun, wind, the earth’s heat and flowing water in canals.

Ticket prices vary from $10 to $18, depending on the night and children two and younger are free. Save $2 when you purchase your tickets online at phoenixzoo.org. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 602.914.4333 (Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) or at the gate when you come to ZooLights.
