Wildfire Elementary School

It’s hard to believe that the 2017-18 school year is wrapping up already! So many wonderful memories come to mind as I reflect on the year.

Teachers and staff worked together to provide meaningful learning opportunities and experiences for our students. Our students participated in a hands-on Google Augmented Reality Expedition, our STEM students explored a Breakout EDU session, and we had an inspiring “Bikers Against Bullies” assembly for 4th-6th grade students. It was also our inaugural year for our Wildfire Watchmen program. The program was created to provide our 6th-grade students with leadership opportunities. They greeted students and staff as they arrived on campus and assisted in monitoring safety. We continued to utilize Professional Learning Communities to support and promote academic achievement, worked together to foster positive relationships, and build rapport with our students.

This year Wildfire students and staff embraced the theme “together we can make a difference” from the book, “ONLY ONE YOU!” by Linda Krantz. Inspired by this theme, students were challenged to identify ways they could make a difference in our world. Students and families participated in a holiday gift drive with a buddy school, collected items for our Goodwill Drive, and promoted kindness through Character Counts.
I would like to thank the parents and Wildfire community. It’s true when they say, “it takes a village to raise a child.” This year has been a tremendous success due to the parents and supportive Wildfire community. Our PTO hosted our second annual Firebird Festival in April. It was with great efforts and donations from our community sponsors that helped to make this event possible.

Thank you to the students, staff, parents, and community for making Wildfire an amazing place to be! Your support and ongoing commitment ensure that our students are provided the very best educational experience!

Warmly,
Erin Vranesh
