The #1 voted nightclub in south Florida has arrived on High Street. Cowboys Saloon strives to offer the best country nightclub experience with features like line dancing, concerts and mechanical bull rides. Cowboys Saloon & Grill also offers a full service restaurant with fantastic food for the whole family and our gang of culinary critics was lucky enough to try it all. If you are looking for a restaurant with large portions, creative presentation, unique tastes great music and cocktails served in mason jars. Cowboys is the place for you.
Here are the highlights
APPETIZERS
Our appetizers included South Meets East Calamari, Outlaw Killer Shrimp, Bacon Jam Brushetta, Lobster Corn Dogs and Cowboys On Horseback Deviled Eggs. Each appetizer has a unique twist. The dish was served with green, red and yellow peppers that added a zestful taste to the calamari. The Outlaw Killer Shrimp featured a tasty sweet and sour sauce. Bacon Jam Brushetta- well what doesn’t taste great with bacon on top and this did not disappoint. The Lobster Corn Dogs were described as “heaven on a stick”. And last but not least, the deviled eggs had the perfect kick to compliment any adult beverage.
SHARED MEALS
Some great sharable options we enjoyed were the Cowboys Chicken Bacon Club, Steak Jam Burger and the Longhorn Burger featuring thick cut cowboy bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, bourbon bbq sauce all topped with a fried egg, the house chips as a side are a must! All we can say to these is bring a big appetite because the portions were large, the presentations were eye popping, and as for taste, we couldn’t stop eating.
THE MEATS
For all you meat lovers out there Cowboys Saloon offers many meats smoked by the pound. Pulled Pork, Sliced Turkey, Brisket and Ribs. If smoked not your thing, try the huge 21 oz. bone-in-rib-eye. True back yard BBQ flavor with meats so tender we did not need a knife. Again, bring your appetite because these are serious portions.
DESSERTS
For those of you with a sweet tooth we enjoyed the bread pudding with rum sauce, cooked to perfection. Not soggy and just sweet enough to stand up to ice cream. The warm carmel apple funnel cake was cooked to perfection. The funnel cake was soft and warm, not greasy and absorbed the carmel sauce making each bite sinfully delicious. For those of us who love chocolate and melted marshmallows the campfire smores really hit the spot. Not a spoonful was left on any of the dessert plates.
Our panel of culinary enthusiasts were extremely impressed with the service. We found the staff friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We welcome Cowboys Saloon to Desert Ridge and all panelists vowed to return.
