Reach 11 Dog Park

Reach 11  Dog Park

Project Update

In early February, staff from the City of Phoenix, Hayden Construction, and architects Thomas & Crowley met to kick off construction of the dog park at Reach 11. Construction was commenced in mid-February and is anticipated to continue through September 2018. The park will be accessible from a new entrance drive connected to the westside of the roundabout on Black Mountain Blvd. Once completed, the dog park will offer three one-acre pens, public water fountains, LED lighting, ramadas, site furnishings, shade trees, sidewalks, landscape, a parking lot, entrance drive and a security gate.

The dog park is the beginning phase of the overall park’s development. Once completed, it will serve as a new park in the City of Phoenix. The Parks and Recreation Department is currently starting the process of naming the park and will be seeking the community’s active involvement in this endeavor. With that, let your voice be heard – come out to the Farmer’s Market on High Street, March 18th, and vote online for your favorite name for this new park! That, and other yet-to-be-determined events will allow the public to participate in this exciting development of a new park in the Desert Ridge area. The voting process for the new name will end March 31, 2018, with the name expected to be announced in April of 2018.  Keep your eyes open for further announcements.

If you have questions about the project, contact the Parks and Recreation Department, Northeast Division at 602–262–6696.
