With a $15 million renovation underway through summer 2017, Desert Ridge Marketplace is attracting several new
tenants that will bring a contemporary lifestyle focus to the center.

BARRIO QUEEN

Local Mexican hotspot Barrio Queen will find its first North Valley home at Phoenix-based Vestar’s Desert Ridge Marketplace in late summer 2017. The artist-designed, 5,700-square-foot restaurant will include a tree-covered outdoor lounge, open kitchen, private tequila tasting room, and artwork from local and Mexican artists. Barrio Queen’s menu will include favorites from the restaurant’s legendary lineup, as well as specialty items created specifically for the Desert Ridge Marketplace location. Diners will witness chefs create tortillas, as well as the visual spectacle of the trompo, a rotating vertical spit crafted specifically
for the famous Mexican dish known
as Al Pastor.

“We are very excited about this new location,” said Barrio Queen owners Steve Rosenfield and Linda Nash. “We are looking forward to sharing our passion for Mexican food and culture to a new area of the Valley. As ‘barrio’ means ‘neighborhood,’ we are excited to bring
our neighborhood to this neighborhood.”

MIDICI

Other niche eateries will make their way into the Marketplace. MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company will serve up fresh pizza, salads and desserts using authentic Italian ingredients in a stylish atmosphere when it opens its doors in July 2017.

THE BODY LAB AND FIT36

The newly-renovated Desert Ridge Marketplace will also welcome two new fitness tenants. April 3 saw the opening of The Body Lab, a pilates studio specializing in Lagree Fitness, a 50-minute total-body workout—the regimen of choice of Hollywood’s elite. FIT36 will get heartrates up with its 36-minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts beginning in early May. “We are so excited to see our vision for Desert Ridge Marketplace come to fruition with the new additions to the center,” said Jenny Cushing, Vice President of Leasing at Vestar. “We look forward to having the community experience all they have to offer, and we know they’ll be as pleased with the new tenants as we are.”

Other recent additions to Desert Ridge Marketplace also include Nekter Juice Bar, uBreakiFix, Chipotle, Sizzle Korean Barbeque, The Joint Chiropractic,
Amazing Lash Studio, Kay Jewelers
and The Beauty District.

Desert Ridge Marketplace is located at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix. To keep up with social media updates on the renovations and changes that are underway, you can like the center on Facebook or visit shopdesertridge.com for more information.
