Maricopa County Animal Care & Control re-opens Kennel Space at Phoenix Shelter Location

Maricopa County Animal Care & Control re-opened the kennels at its west valley Animal Care Center on May 13th. The agency now houses dogs and cats formerly housed at areas throughout the Phoenix locations that were previously occupied by HALO Animal Rescue.
The newly acquired space includes three outdoor kennel buildings, two banks of indoor cat kennels, two banks of indoor small dog kennels and five larger “community” rooms. In addition to more space, the agency anticipates less confusion for visitors to the Phoenix Shelter.
All adopted pets are sprayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dogs over three months of age receive a rabies vaccination and County dog license.
Halo animal rescue now occupies a building at 32nd Street and Bell Road in Phoenix. And while the nonprofit animal welfare organization is no longer sharing space with MC Animal Care & Control, both agencies work together to save lives.
