I am honored to serve as the Interim Principal of Desert Trails Elementary School for the 2017-2018 school year. Our school is made up of dynamic staff, dedicated parents, involved community members, and students who share in the relentless pursuit of developing World-Class Thinkers. Desert Trails has an outstanding reputation when it comes to providing students with a high quality education. I come to Desert Trails with 17 years of experience in education. Last year, I was the Assistant Principal at both Boulder Creek and Sonoran Sky Elementary Schools. Prior to administration, I was a classroom teacher in Paradise Valley Unified School District and Scottsdale Unified School District where I taught grades 6th, 1st, 2nd, PreKindergarten, infants, and Self-Contained Gifted. I also worked as an online curriculum developer. I have my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s degrees in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Administration; as well I hold my Early Childhood and Gifted Endorsements. I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to Desert Trails and to work with you in partnership.
On a personal note, I am an Arizona native. My husband, and high school sweetheart, is a longtime Valley golf instructor. I have a 9 year old daughter, a 12 year old son, and a rescue dog named Abby. We focus on spending time as a family to find balance amidst our busy schedules.
As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors – teachers, students, and parents- are excited to be at Desert Trails! Together, we will embrace the highest level of academic excellence, while focusing on ensuring that school is a safe place to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
