A Celebration of Crafted Cocktails

Enjoy a new drinks menu, interactive cocktail classes and Arizona Cocktail Week at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa

Scottsdale, Ariz. (Jan. 26, 2016) – In celebration of its new signature cocktail program, “Crafted at Westin,” The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is launching a spring series of interactive cocktail classes as well as offering a refreshing new take on a Gin & Tonic with its Arizona Cocktail Week offering, the AZGNT.

Just in time to spring into a new season, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa presents “Crafted Cocktails with Matt.” Resort mixologist Matt Allen will teach guests about various spirits, the art of mixology, and what’s trending in the cocktail scene, all while teaching them to become craft cocktail connoisseurs. The 90-minute classes will feature hands-on instruction about how to create classic crafted cocktails that will add zest to any celebration. Participants will be provided with their own bar station complete with all the ingredients needed to mix and drink their creations. The curriculum will include The Miner’s Wife, Rhubon Sour and Caribbean Cafe.

“Crafted Cocktails with Matt” will be offered from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Saturdays from March 12 through April 30. Classes are $50 per person and include light appetizers – as well as the mixed drinks. Plus, participants take home their own cocktail shaker, recipe cards and a discount on appetizers at the Waltz & Weiser Whiskey Bar and Cantina. Advance reservations are required. Information or reservations: 480-624-1268.

In addition to offering its new classes, the Resort also is joining in the 5th Annual Arizona Cocktail Week from Feb. 13-21. During Arizona Cocktail Week guests will be able to enjoy the AZGNT, a fresh take on a classic Gin & Tonic specially priced at $10 with part of the proceeds benefiting the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation in Phoenix. Indulge in an AZGNT at Waltz & Weiser Whiskey Bar and Cantina.

The “Crafted Cocktails with Matt” classes and new Arizona Cocktail Week drink celebrate the introduction of “Crafted at Westin,” the Resort’s new signature cocktail program. The menu features a selection of expertly mixed cocktails infused with natural ingredients and local flavors including the refreshing Pomegranate Green Tea, Cucumber Basil Gimlet, and Rosemary Pineapple Margarita.
