There are increasingly more families that remain here in Desert Ridge for the summer months. What used to sometimes appear as abandon neighborhoods has been replaced by community recreation and summer fun with an abundance of summer camp opportunities, staycations at local resorts and community events.
In June and August the Desert Ridge Lifestyles Committee will host our monthly Ladies Night, which brings dozens of women together to socialize, network and relax at a local restaurant/bar. Staycationers can take advantage of discounted rates at the JW Marriott and Westin Kierland. In addition, a variety of summer activities are available through many of our community partners.
The Vestar Branch of the Boys & Girls Club offers supervision in a fun and inspiring setting with weekly camps, field trips, summer sports programs and extended teen center hours during the day. For more information visit vestarbranch.bgcs.org or call 480-585-0170.
Summer Splash Tuesdays at Desert Ridge Marketplace will begin in June and continue every Tuesday through the end of July from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the AMC Fountain. Each week features a different film character and photos in addition to games, dancing, prizes and more. Residents can also enjoy live music at the Desert Ridge Marketplace every Friday evening on the District Stage and on Saturday evenings at the AMC Fountain.
The restaurants and shops on High Street are also offering a full summer schedule of social hours, nightlife, entertainment and shopping promotions. Every Wednesday is Family Fun at Cowboy Saloon where kids can join their parents on the dance floor, get their face painted and more. Happy hours and ladies nights continue all summer at Modern Margarita, Blue Martini, Ocean Prime, Mellow Mushroom, Kona Grill, Cowboy Saloon and wine specials at La Boca Wine Bar & Urban Kitchen.
